Last night my office hosted our first “Desserts and Doulas” along with The Georgia Birth Network. The Georgia Birth Network is a non-profit organization committed to providing support and education for childbirth professionals and birthing families in Georgia. GBN members are dedicated to improving pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum experiences through information, empowerment and advocacy. “Desserts and Doulas” provides expectant couples with the opportunity to meet birth professionals. At this event, for example, we had doulas, a childbirth educator, a chiropractor, and someone who provides placenta encapsulation services.
I was able to sit down with a couple of the providers, Savanna Floyd and Tomecas Thomas to learn more about the event and the services they offer. Check out the videos and visit Ga. Birth Network’s calendar for a list of all their upcoming events,
As you remember, chiropractic helps pregnant women greatly by restoring balance to the nervous system. It balances the pelvis and uterus allowing the baby to get into the optimal position for birth. It can also help reduce pain and time in labor as well as reduce symptoms like nausea and vomiting.
